The Patient Identification and Encounter Management (PIEM) - Clinical Services team manages clinical Information Technology applications within the Calgary Zone to enable sustainable quality health care programs and services. As a member of the application support team, the PIEM Operations Level III Analyst is able to: Provide technical Level III expertise, support and solutions to customers enterprise wide application functionality and business needs Provide detailed reporting expertise in support of clinical care. Leads Level III projects with moderate size, risk and complexity, including responsibility for planning and coordinating project initiatives. Use best practice knowledge and understanding of the clinical business processes and functionality of the application to resolve technical application issues and problems. Manage relationships with vendor(s) and other application support teams to coordinate problem resolution and ensure solutions are appropriate, effective and timely. Deliver timely, accurate, complex project deliverables with minimal guidance. Provide advanced technical business support needs, and effectively act as mediator and consult for the clinical business. Act as application technical escalation point the for Clinical Business. Participates as subject matter expert on project teams to provide input into solutions based on best practices, industry, and AHS requirements/policy. Responds to customer inquiries based on knowledge of AHS guidelines and policies. Understands IT strategies and communicates to customer about IT strategy implications to their business processes and goals. Participates in 24 hour on call rotation, as required.
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.

Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a health care role or discipline. Diploma in information technology, information sciences or related discipline. Broad-spectrum application technical experience and knowledge of patient flow across the health care system. Demonstrated experience and skill in building reports in Microsoft Report Builder / Power BI, and developing queries using TOAD and SQL Developer. Demonstrated advanced knowledge, experience, and understanding of Oracle database environment. Demonstrated advanced knowledge, experience, and understanding of SQL reporting tools and methodologies environment. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with HL7 messaging format and standards. In-depth analytical and technical skills in health care application technologies. Superior problem-solving skills and client service commitment focus.
