You won't want to miss the opportunity to explore this exciting SLED (State/Local Government and Education) markets Business Development Manager opportunity with an industry leading Commercial Security Systems Integrator. Selected candidate may live anywhere in Oklahoma, preferably near Tulsa or Oklahoma City. Successful track record selling commercial integrated controls/technology solutions in the education, state or local government markets desired. This could also be a good match for a current or former manager in state or local government or the education system, or a sales professional selling telecommunications or IT in any of the SLED markets. Experience with state and local cooperative purchasing agreements a plus. The person in this position will become an Oklahoma SLED vertical market specialist (subject matter expert) and be responsible for the business development and account management activities in the SLED space, primarily in the OK City/Tulsa corridor.

Compensation commensurate with experience, in the $100,000 base range, plus performance based, uncapped commissions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Build a sales pipeline and generate new revenue by identifying, qualifying, and capturing new awards in the state, local or higher education markets.
  • Dedicated government business development with assigned state booking goal.
  • Focus on creating opportunities through partners and develop and or/maintain trusted relationships with industry counterparts.
  • Work with Government Services Team and Regional BDM s to leverage programs and relationships in Oklahoma.
  • Participate/lead strategic planning including company s positioning in cooperative purchasing competitive analysis, target customer selection and qualification, and penetration plans.
  • Meet and/or exceed established metrics (pipeline growth, close ratio, forecast accuracy, revenue production, client interaction).
  • Identify and obtain client-specific contract vehicles.

Requirements (What we look for in candidates): Must-haves: - 4-8 years of work experience in any customer-facing sales role. - Clear, concise, and effective written and oral communication skills. - Empathy towards customers and understanding their needs. - Interest, curiosity, and openness to learning new technologies. - Prior exposure to tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, DiscoverOrg, ZoomInfo, etc. - Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as end customers. - Learning mindset and the right attitude that will help you thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. - Ability to handle rejections and stay focused and driven. - Ability to multi-task and manage your tasks effectively. - Flexibility in working in different shifts/regions. This is absolutely mandatory because you will be expected to work in a specific shift for a minimum of two years. Good to have: - Prior work experience in SaaS product companies in domains relevant to Freshworks' suite of products. - A proven track record of consistency in overachieving targets.
