Job Description

As a Software Development Manager on the Suspicious Activity Monitoring team, you will lead a team of engineers to design and build software systems that collect evidence of suspicious actors engaged in illegal activity and report it to authorities. We report on various crimes including drug trafficking, money laundering, and terrorist financing. These systems need to have high level of data security since they will handle sensitive information. They will also need to be flexible to collect from a wide source of data as new Amazon business are launched.

As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and growing a team of talented engineers. We take a growth mindset and give the "learning zone" as much priority as the "performance zone". You should be adept at understanding the development needs of individuals on your team and providing the right challenges and feedback.

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Understanding of CI/CD and Agile software engineering practices
  • Background in support for large scale application implementations.
  • Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems
  • Experience managing and leading software engineers
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills
