--Expectation is to spend every other week in the Bay Area meeting face-to face with agents; the other two weeks would be the greater Sacramento area--
California insurance agents and consumers are struggling mightily secure homeowners insurance. Over the past two years there has been a steady exit of carriers and increasing non-renewals. Stepping into the chaos with solutions is LightSpeed Specialty Insurance Solutions.*
LightSpeed is in growth mode, offering California agents a surplus lines HO3 and DP3 solution for their customers. We are actively looking for an ambitious and exceptionally talented sales professional with at least 10 years of experience in the California homeowners insurance industry as a carrier/MGA sales representative, who resides in Northern California.
The right candidate is ready to spend most of their time working in direct contact with agents. Often that will be in-person but also via video and voice calls. The ideal candidate is an outstanding communicator, with HO3 and DP3 expertise, and a large network of existing agency contacts.
Must be able to engage effectively with front line producers as well as agency principals/owners. In order to be successful, the right candidate is sufficiently analytical to correctly evaluate the potential of agencies and then prioritize their time and efforts to maximize profitable growth in their territory.
No direct reports but working in highly collaborative team environment with other top sales professionals. Primary interaction will be agency personnel.
- Daily interaction with independent agents (in-person and/or virtual)
- Generate profitable premium growth through:
-Appointment of high-quality agencies
-Expansion of new business production within each agency
-Securitization of high retention of desired policy renewals
-Clear, compelling articulation of LightSpeed’s product, service, and other differentiators to win increasing share of agency production
- Gather actionable competitive intelligence related to marketing tactics, product offerings, underwriting appetite, and regulatory strategies
- Tracking of agent interactions, reporting to leadership key insights
- Gathering, evaluating, and reporting on agent performance
- Creating territory strategic and tactical profitable growth plans
- Territory: San Francisco Bay Area
- 10-15 years experience working with California independent agents; large network of agents and agencies
- Outstanding reputation with agents
- Strong product knowledge

- Expert in agency quote & bind applications as well as AMS
- Excellent at in-person, video, and telephone communications
- Familiar with the E&S market

Pay: $100,000.00 - $123,292.00 per year
