Work you'll do:

The Product Manager (Associate Vice President) will be a leader in defining, updating, and executing the strategy of our ConvergeCONSUMER Sensing and Shaping products. Converge CONSUMER is Deloitte Consulting's innovation and product arm committed to shaping the future of the consumer businesses across retail, consumer products manufacturing, automotive, transportation, and hospitality sectors .

The Product Manager will lead our Sensing and Shaping product team, collaborating with Consumer industry leadership, to create differentiated products and solutions that help consumer businesses anticipate and react to what consumers want. This individual will lead the product team in articulating the market need in detail, defining the vision for Sensing and Shaping products and partner with product design and engineering team members on delivery. In addition, this role will work with the product marketing team members on launch and market engagement, and with customer success on adoption and early customer programs. At ConvergeCONSUMER, a Product Manager is a hands-on leadership role that includes both strategic planning and communications as well as day-to-day management of product teams. As the champion for Sensing and Shaping products, the role assumes a leadership position and demonstrates a consistent record of accomplishment in managing product teams composed of individuals with expertise in diverse domains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the product lifecycle from product strategy to demonstrating product / market fit achieving product / market fit
  • Research, identify, and monitor market needs and competitive landscape
  • Provide objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment and feature delivery
  • Own the product roadmap and backlog
  • Prioritize product features based on market, customer, and internal feedback
  • Work closely with engineering management to estimate effort, set scope, and define timelines
  • Lead the development of product artifacts such as product positioning, messaging, presentations, sales tools, marketing collateral, and product demonstrations for use in Go To Market efforts
  • Work with ConvergeCONSUMER management to help drive revenue forecasts and deliver revenue objectives
  • Participate in Buy / Build / Partner recommendations in support of product growth opportunities.
  • Work with the Product Owners and Product Delivery Managers to ensure the product vision is maintained through the development cycle
  • Lead internal governance activities required for market entry

PreferredQualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or equivalent field. MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of demonstrated success in fast-paced product management role for software, analytics and/or SaaS-based products
  • Proven record of accomplishment of launching successful new products and enhancing and scaling them through product releases
  • Experience in software or digital products targeted for consumer industry a plus (e.g., retailers, consumer products manufacturers)
  • Experience with early stage products and new product development from ideation through market launch and revenue generation
  • Proven ability to successfully collaborate with internal stakeholders from various levels and areas of the organization and drive successful outcomes cross-functionally
  • Experience working closely with an engineering organization to manage products through the entire product lifecycle
  • Willingness to travel (25%) periodically (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice)
  • Expertise in latest technology landscape, including Artificial Intelligence, cloud, distributed platforms, quantum computing, digital experience / reality
  • Experience with the use of statistics to address business problems and/or deliver recommendations via intuitive software interfaces
  • Well-developed judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to juggle many competing priorities/deadlines
  • Highly collaborative and the ability to lead by influence
  • High energy/high focus
  • Strong technical background combined with solid business experience
  • High personal integrity and team-orientation
  • Highly self-motivated, passionate, team-oriented individual
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
