United Veterinary Care (“UVC”) is one of the fastest growing, private equity backed, multi-site veterinary hospital groups in the United States. The Company is pursuing a strategy to grow via a combination of add-on acquisitions and organic growth initiatives over time and will expand the size of its network throughout the United States.

We are currently hiring a Tax & Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our team. The Tax & Regulatory Compliance Specialist will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will be an integral team member in the accounting department and will be actively involved in all state and local tax and regulatory compliance matters. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, well organized and excels under pressure.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor sales, use and property tax, and business license changes and assess impact of changes to UVC
  • Collaborate with business analyst to extract all information from UVC’s partner hospitals’ Practice Management System required to prepare tax filings
  • Prepare sales tax registrations and resale certificates for newly acquired hospitals
  • Prepare sales and use tax returns monthly for each of UVC’s hospital locations
  • Prepare and maintain sales tax reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit business license files for each of UVC’s hospital locations
  • Assist with the development of policies and procedures over tax and regulatory compliance matters


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Will consider someone pursuing their Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting and/or tax compliance experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including experience with pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Demonstrated ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Detailed oriented and well organized
  • Strong work ethic and willing to go the extra mile
  • Takes initiative and approaches issues with an analytical mindset
  • Works well under pressure and is accustomed to strict deadline deliverables; and
  • Multi-location retail and/or healthcare background, a plus
