Job Description
Overview:
Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) generate top of the funnel, qualified leads through outbound prospecting and marketing lead follow up. All prospecting is done remotely in the Inside Sales hub. Researching and engaging customers is via phone, email, or other virtual channels. This role focuses on HCM products in the Core Sales, Human Resource Service Sales, and Major Market Sales organizations but can refer to other business units. An Inside SDR is meant as a growth function, with career paths to Inside Sales Rep or field roles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on accounts, collect prospect contact info, and identify the company’s decision makers and influencers
- Create prospecting targets, conduct outbound prospecting to generate Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and schedule meetings as appropriate
- Build rapport with prospects by nurturing and conducting engaging conversations, and articulates competitive advantages by highlighting our differentiators
- Partners with selling representatives to strategically target accounts and identify potential opportunities for Paychex
- Effectively manage open opportunities and maintain data updates within the CRM (salesforce.com) to ensure an effective pipeline is being nurtured
- Follow up on Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to transition them to SQLs, then submit SQLs to Paychex’s lead routing function.
- Follow established sales play cadences, as needed
- H.S. Diploma - Required
- Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
- 1 year of experience in Inside sales or equivalent combination of education & experience.
