Job Description :
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Client Services Group, Edmonton AB. The candidate must have established contacts and experience selling technology related services and solutions to the Alberta Government.
The primary focus of the Business Development Manager will be to identify, qualify and close new business opportunities with the Alberta Government. The territory will also include BC, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will have expertise in the mission objectives, program operations, and business processes of various ministries, and be intimately familiar with life cycle acquisition processes that drive the Government procurement process.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to offer the customer unique perspectives, have strong two-way communication skills, understand the clients value drivers and business economics, and be able to have an effective conversation in regards technology services, offerings and solutions.
Minimum of 10 years of business development experience, which must include selling technology related services and solutions to Provincial Government Ministries in Alberta.
Established senior and intermediate level client relationships with Alberta Ministries.
Able to demonstrate a high degree of technical knowledge and communicate this knowledge accurately and effectively at all levels. Previous experience in a Technology Lead, Project Manager, Architect or similar technical position will, therefore, be highly regarded.
Good understanding of IT Projects Life Cycles and emerging technologies like Cloud Migration, Cyber Security, Legacy Modernization, Case Management, ERP, CRM, DMV, Health Solutions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Experience selling technology related services and solutions, including offsite and onshore / offshore delivery.
Previous experience as a Technology Lead, Project Manager, Architect or similar technical position.
Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent, required from an accredited institution.
Post-graduate degree and / or professional certifications are preferred, although not required.
