WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
CSM is in search of an Event Operations Director to work on a multi-sport, multi- venue sport league. Working in collaboration with the creative, PR, social media, digital, experiential, promotional, and strategy teams to deliver a high quality, on budget facility to accommodate fans, athletes, broadcast, and staff.

The Event Operations Director is responsible for developing, supporting, and delivering key aspects of the program, ensuring that quality work is provided to each client on time and on budget.

Overview of Responsibilities

Conduct venue search to include:
RFP creation in collaborate with sport operations and broadcast

Outreach to local sports/tourism commissions

Identify alternative/unique venues in market, if available

Research and vetting of potential venues

Serve as main point of contact for competition venue logistics

Work with internal teams to provide overall space planning and operational efficiencies to accommodate fans, athletes, broadcast, internal and external media, and operations

Develop and manage production schedules and labor plan

Research, secure and manage vendors, equipment and supplies necessary for event operations

Source and manage event services as needed; security, EMT, power, water, parking, housekeeping, garbage, and recycling

Collaborate with sports leads on specialty and sports specific needs

Collaborate with broadcast production on set-up, space and operational needs

Manage install, maintenance and dismantle of key programming elements, various workspaces and training areas

Manage on-site inventory shipping and local warehousing

Hire, train and supervise event services staff.

Develop executional CSM staff and travel plan to oversee on-site operations

Produce printed and digital branded assets including in stadium branding, static and animated LED graphics, printed collateral, and signage

Develop standard operating procedures Emergency Action Plan in collaboration with each venue

Development of security/access; creating & executing plan based on needs

Develop and implement on-site communication plan to coordinate all on-site communications across production, broadcast, content, and sports operations

Set up of field/court and practice areas, as needed

Contribute to overall budget development

Ancillary venue and event management as directed

Weekly and end of season reporting

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
5-8 years successful experience in producing integrated brand marketing, experiential marketing programs and events, sports specific operations a plus

A full understanding of production and vendor management

Detail-oriented and demonstrates project management skills, inclusive of managing and prioritizing projects with multiple and often competing deadlines, and ability to work under pressure

Experience working with cross-functional teams, as well as vendor management negotiation and supervision

Proven track record managing colleagues and clients in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently, under supervision, and in a team-based and goal-oriented environment

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail, and interpersonal skills

Quick thinker, able problem-solver – track record of proactive and solutions-oriented account management service

Passionate, curious, proactive, and creative

Self-starter, entrepreneurial, willing to try things they haven’t done before

Travel and weekend work, as needed
