Johnson & Johnson Vision, a member of Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Strategic Account Manager for Surgical Vision in Canada. This role will require at least 50% travel but will ideally be based out of the GTA or Montréal.

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) maintains and expands relationships with strategically meaningful large customers. The SAM is responsible for achieving financial and non-financial objectives. The individual represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while owning the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by the company.


  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts

  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations

  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts

  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical achievements for a one and three-year period

  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis

  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel

  • Utilizes Customer Resource Management (CRM) System and computer hardware/software to improve efficiency. Prepares and submits on a timely basis all reports requested by management and marketing through use of email

  • Work within an assigned annual budget, allocate accordingly to the team and ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience or equivalent experience. Med Device/surgical ophthalmology sales is preferable

  • Ability to influence without authority

  • Experience working in an Operating Room (OR) and familiarity with OR etiquette are required
