We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team in Tacoma, WA, or Austin, TX, reporting to the senior manager of Software Engineering. In this role, you will be a part of the team building SaaS-based applications and services powering Infoblox’s Data Lake and other Next-Gen Platform components. As part of the Cloud Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to use the latest technology to deliver the core foundation for all Infoblox applications. You will also get the opportunity to work with the best of the technical and thought leadership team at Infoblox.

What you’ll do:

  • Join an agile SaaS team to design, develop, and maintain features and iteratively deploy services using Infoblox’s cloud-based architecture
  • Design and implement components of the Next Generation Platform & Data Lake
  • Recommend ways to improve system reliability, efficiency, and quality
  • Work closely with various cross-functional product teams
  • Stay current on key trends, especially in the area of technologies and frameworks like Kubernetes, Docker, and ELK/Prometheus
  • Be responsible for key back-end components of the platform
  • Develop REST and gRPC APIs, as well as contribute to the overall API framework


What you’ll bring:

  • 6+ years of experience in software development with programming languages such as Python, Golang, or Java
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux system internals, including boot, network, and storage subsystems
  • Knowledge of protocols such as DHCP, DNS, NTP, and TCP/IP
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture and container-based software
  • Experience in microservices development and container-based software using Docker and other container technologies is a huge plus
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, etc.) is a plus
  • Good exposure in application performance tuning, memory management, and scalability
  • Ability to design highly scalable distributed systems using different open-source technologies
  • Experience building high-performance algorithms
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE or EE is required and master’s in CS, CE, or EE is preferred
  • Good communication skills

  • Have made a significant contribution toward back-end development

  • Start leading and taking ownership of the feature/project
  • Have gained hands-on working experience and become an expert on Docker and Kubernetes
