THE ROLE
Solution Engineers are trusted advisors focused on customer success. Through world-class demonstrations and engaging customer stories, we paint a compelling, innovative, and unique vision of transformation for our customers.
Applying functional and technical understanding of our Software applications you will aid in the discovery and analysis of individual challenges and goals of our customers and prospects. Acting as a translator, it is the role of the Senior Solution Engineer to decipher varying and/or complex requirements, addressing customer challenges and offering story driven, innovative solutions through engaging Value Centric demonstrations and presentations.

Balancing multiple projects and responding effectively to RFIs and RFPs in a team selling environment, whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders throughout each sales cycle. You will continually grow your solution expertise across our software portfolio, as well as remaining up to date of the competition.

Beyond deal execution, we partner with the larger organisation by supporting pipeline generating activities, contributing to sales enablement and providing market feedback to development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be a trusted advisor of our sales team to help drive sales opportunities
  • Liaise with internal/external clients in order to clarify clients’ requirements and to define the scope of project
  • Partner with Account Executives to deliver engaging, value-centric demonstrations that differentiate FinancialForce from our competitors
  • Act as a go-to person to provide/ obtain/ confirm functional and technical information across the range of customer enquiries (RFP, Statement of Work etc)
  • Complete discovery calls and client meetings to understand key objectives, discover and analyse challenges, requirements and priorities of customers and prospects
  • Present innovative, story driven solutions from our software portfolio to address customer challenges and meet requirements
  • Develop and grow expertise related to FinancialForce solutions, the force.com platform, partner applications, and the competitive landscape
  • Partner with Marketing and Alliances to support field events
  • Support enablement initiatives throughout the organization
  • Assist in responding to RFIs and RFPs
  • Provides advice and assistance in the procurement, provision, delivery, installation, maintenance and use of IT systems and their environments;
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA / BS degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Experience working in a financial consulting role
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Subject Matter expertise in Accounting and/or Professional Services
  • Positive and collaborative attitude with a strong dedication to customer success
  • Deliver, strong and effective presentations and demonstrations
  • Ability to multitask, communicate priorities, and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively across internal and external teams (technical, business and executive level)
  • Communication of complex financial and technical concepts to a business or technical audience, resulting in the close of sale
  • Ability to influence thinking, shape discussion and overcome objections to gain solution acceptance
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) are essential, as well as strong listening skills
  • Creative problem solving and positive objection handling skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Proven experience as a Senior level Solutions Engineer, supporting Enterprise applications across Financial Management and/ or Professional Services Automation solutions
  • Knowledge of competitor applications and cloud solutions
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Salesforce CRM
  • Experience engaging in C Level interactions
  • Proven and effective discovery and analysis skills with the ability to understand the challenges and goals of our prospects and customers
  • Experience of positioning solutions in the context of business value to key decision makers
  • Proven success selling at least one of the following software applications: FinancialForce PSA, Oracle PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, SAP ERP, SAP Business ByDesign, Workday, Netsuite OpenAir, Changepoint, Kimble PSA, Quickbooks, or other similar ERP software
