Movemint is like a wedding planner for busy people who are moving. Our team will plan, manage and facilitate any relocation (large or small, residential or business) from end to end so that the client can focus on what really matters. Movemint is a boutique project management service. Our true value is peace of mind.

Movemint is not a moving company. We don’t have trucks or the labor, but we’ll find the best folks, do all the research, vetting and comparison (movers, art installation, professional organizers, pet nannies, furniture donations or disbursements, wine collections etc) so that the relocation stays on time and on budget. All vendor and supply costs are in addition to and on top of Movemint.

Sure, if our clients had the time, they could manage this themselves. But moving is time consuming, emotional and frustrating. For a large project, you might even consider it a full time job. Movemint’s secret sauce is that we’re in the business of helping people stress less. Every action we take (logistical planning, scheduling, timeline management, documentation) streamlines the relocation process so that the client can rest easy during their transition. Our micro focus is on the million little things that might slip through the cracks, go unnoticed, or get left behind. Movemint is a real person that the client can text when they have a random question or critical thing they forgot to mention.

Corporate relocation companies exist, and so do plenty of app-based solutions for folks to manage their moves. Our clients choose Movemint because, even after hiring those guys, they’d still have to take days off work to make sure the process is smooth at the very least - not to mention the potential 4-8 week drain on their mental health depending on the size of the project. This is an intimate partnership, sometimes part therapy and other times tough love, to ensure that the client can step into a new chapter of their life in a way that feels authentic, genuine and supported. We’re looking for a Project Manager who can take complete ownership of a client account with confidence and humility. Project management responsibilities include 1) the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope 2) oversee all aspects of projects 3) set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project 4) prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.

We are building our small but scrappy team in the Bay Area. This role is part time and requires being physically present. It is not remote although plans for immediate expansion are being scaled. Hours will depend on business leads. This could be structured as an independent contractor only scheduled when projects are live.

Your experience:

· At tech companies: Executive Assistant, Operations, Customer Success, Office Manager, Chief of Staff and anyone else who’s scrappy and undervalued as they see their opportunities plateau

· Hospitality: hotels, restaurants, travel, resorts

· Events: weddings, conferences, arts organizations, corporate, nonprofit

· Production: film, TV, live music, dance, touring


  • Bachelor’s degree and proven working experience in project management in a high risk/high reward planning industry
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Use PC and Mac interchangeably as well as Dropbox, CAD, and Google Drive
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to take detailed documentation on expectations and clarify specific requirements of each project or phase

Project example I: Millennial Michael

Client is single and moving from one 400 square foot apartment to another in SF. They’ve packed their things, hired the movers, and will be at their new place using the wifi and not taking a day off work. Client booked the “Day of Move Support” package. Project Manager communicates with Michael via email twice to clarify the task list, once by phone to answer specific questions, and once in person to get keys to the apartment. Total prep time is less than 5 hours.

Michael points out at the site meeting he’ll need Movemint to supply a few more boxes. PM goes to Home Depot (which we try to never do!) to be prepared on the day of. The “day of” is an 8 hour day. PM arrives on site and packs a few additional items in the new boxes. PM cleans out the fridge and takes out the trash. Movers arrive and pack/load all items. PM gives labor a previously agreed upon cash tip. Remoov arrives to take junk away. PM gives labor a previously agreed upon cash tip. PM returns the keys to the building’s management office.

Client also asked Movemint to donate a shelf to Goodwill and take cable box to FedEx. Movemint runs these two errands and texts client that the job is over.

Project example II: Executive Eliza

Client lives with spouse, three kids, two dogs, two cats, and a bunny in a 7,000 square foot home in SF moving to an 8,000 square foot home in Marin. Client needs full time support to logistically plan the transition over six weeks.

Multiple site meetings at both properties are necessary to take photo, video and measurements of spaces for planning purposes. Move is organized in two Phases: storage (three days) and public areas (five days). Professional organizers will unload the items for three days and art installation will happen last. Client needs furniture photographed, disbursed, or sold online. Quote sourcing is required for house movers, fine art, wine, animals, couches for reupholstery, storage build and design, professional organizers, and piano move.

PM is responsible for timeline and vendor management. Schedule coordination and communication is required with housekeepers, house manager, cat sitter, dog walker, client’s executive assistant, and general contractor at new property. Thorough documentation is required including photos, videos, maps, furniture plans, receipts, cash handling, and purchase orders. PM purchases $4500 in supplies for reimbursement going to the new house including ULINE storage shelving, piano covers, luxury handbag and jewelry boxes.

PM is the director on active site days and will staff up to have Movemint support when needed. Project closing involves a full accounting of all expenses, sharing financial actuals for vendors, and any outstanding project needs.
