Job Description

This Qlik Sr Business Analyst will be part of the Qlik Center of Excellence team to facilitate and implement technology solutions within the business intelligence domain. Responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the solution will meet the needs of the business. Demonstrates subject matter expertise and is able to integrate domain knowledge with an understanding of financial services standards and practices. Is the primary on the most complex or escalated issues and may provide direction and guidance team members. Requires a high-level understanding of systems, industry and end-user needs. Applies specialized domain knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating business processes and data. Is able to make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis. This position will be based out of our headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collaborating with the business to facilitate and implement Qlik solutions with the goal of improving business decision making.
  • Responsible for writing system requirements that will ensure the Qlik solution will meet the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for analyzing the data needs for those requirements and mapping the data to source system and the Qlik platform.
  • Validates test cases to ensure that scripts will evaluate the business function being performed.
  • Gathers and interprets information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, etc.) and makes recommendations.
  • Provides support for Qlik Center of Excellence including documenting business processes.
  • Translates technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.
  • Participates in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.
  • Partners with team members to develop project schedules, reports and documentation. May be required to act as project lead on small to medium projects and/or provide direction to others on the team and create/maintain project plans.
  • Works with User Experience / Design resources to help visualize requirements into prototype.
  • Prior experience with large complex data models and mapping source systems.
  • Ability to decompose requirements to the data element level / subject area level and work with our EDM team to identify source systems for data needed.
  • Profiles data sources using the SQL, other data discovery tools in support of data quality analysis and BI design efforts.

Qualifications


Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and five (5) years of relevant experience or combination of education, training and experience.
  • May work in a team environment or project room to facilitate collaboration.

Required:

  • Experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Strong interest and ability to learn new technology concepts and apply them to business needs.
  • Proficient in creating detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules, User Experience) and non-functional capabilities.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Innate curiosity for the unknown.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Financial Services experience.
