Executive Sales Engineer (Business Development)

Salary pluscommission.Commission is 6% on project/equipment sales with a profit modifier of +/- 2% depending on profit made on the sale and an additional 2% if cross selling product from another division. 10% commission on all service contracts.

Location: Prefer candidates willing to live in the Phoenix area but remote candidates will be considered. Territory is mostly the Phoenix area, but also Las Vegas and southern CA.

This person should have the following experience: metering, electrical background, electrical grid understanding, electrical engineer, Energy manager Certificate. This person should have a strong understanding in EPMS and SCADA, see links at end of description for more understanding.

Ideally this will be someone that is or has recently been in the electrical grid sales industry.

This person will likely enjoy being a hunter more than a farmer. They will have some farming with a small number of existing accounts, but the client wants someone to go out and land more business.

There is a seasoned person that is part time in this role that will help with training and onboarding.

  • This position is accountable for the promotion and sale of a broad range of Electrical Power management system (EPMS) products/solutions/services under the direction of the Area Sales Manager.
  • Develops new sales opportunities / accounts and addresses and services the needs of established accounts
  • Set goals and objectives, develop sales/business plans, establish call plans and strategies, develop account profiles, and execute the sales plan.
  • Utilizes excellent products/solutions/services and customer knowledge to educate customers on pricing and application advantages, and how they meet customer's needs
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Schneider Electric products/solutions/services and competitor strengths, weaknesses, and applications. Apply knowledge of Schneider Electric products/solutions/services to customer's needs.


  • Apply market and account skills necessary for dealing with specific, high-level target customers.
  • Identify and develop account penetration strategies.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Schneider Electric products/solutions/services and competitor strengths, weaknesses, and applications. Apply knowledge of Schneider Electric products/solutions/services to customer's needs.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through in-depth knowledge of customer's organization, increasing account dedication, timely communication, and follow up.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems; Building Automation Systems, Systems Integration, Energy Management Systems, SCADA, or electrical metering.
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric proprietary software such as Power Monitoring Expert or Power SCADA Expert, ION or Powerlogic systems, or Siemens WinPM.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, etc.
  • Working knowledge of electrical power and energy theory.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret contract specifications and electrical drawing packages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a group setting, team oriented, self-motivated, and results driven.

Key Accountabilities  * Create customer success plans to drive growth for each account  * Support solution design and technical implementation of current desired integrations as outlined in the customer success plan. * Monitor user adoption and product utilization and create targeted programs to increase engagement and support the agency's change management process. * Build strong relationships between the Miovision product and support teams to ensure continuous resolution of ongoing operational issues as well as product deficiencies that may come up.  * Participate in regular support and health checks to ensure accounts are continuing to derive value from our solutions * Support software renewal and upselling activities  Skills/Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalency or achievement of recognized professional level * 5+ years of technical experience; must understand network products * Ability to travel internationally, providing on-site consulting work to clients * Ability to manage multiple projects utilizing strong planning and organizational skills * Experience with general consulting skills that include team facilitation, business case development, strong business analysis skills, process mapping and process redesign * Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, change management and support * Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues * Basic understanding of product development and engineering processes.  We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
