Your Role and Responsibilities


The IBM Network Delivery Team aims to meet customer’s needs head on with solutions including emerging technologies for hybrid cloud, zero-trust environments.

As a Network Delivery Specialist, you will consult, implement and integrate various solutions such as Firewalls, VPN, and other solutions. Delivering a variety of technology projects, you will exceed customer expectations by ensuring they are set up to have a safe, functional, stable and secure environment.

As a customer-focused network professional, with a focus on automation you will :

  • focus on executing the design and engineering of the enterprise automation solution while working closely with the client.
  • You’ll be embedding with application and infrastructure teams that haven’t used automation before and demonstrating best practices of automation, site reliability engineering (SRE), and CI/CD
  • Lead hands-on deployment and configuration experience with products such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Crowdstrike and Proofpoint within Medium size Businesses and-or large organizations.
  • Ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery of solutions
    Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for firewall solutions.
  • Architect, design, and capacity plan complex and multi-vendor solutions including planning and organising your work based on multiple project timelines and priorities
  • Make timely and logical decisions by analysing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve deployment challenges
  • Support sales engineers as well as design engineers during presales phase and participate as required on Proof of Concept and Pilot engagements

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services (Design, Deployment, Troubleshooting, Assessment)
  • Translate the clients’ technical strategy into a solid and secure operational solution and infrastructure
  • Have strong and trusted relationships with their clients, understanding their challenges, desired outcomes and business success criteria of the proposed solution.
  • Create the required artefacts (design document, diagrams, build book, etc..)
  • Apply best practices
  • Ability to gather the key and required information from various teams
  • Work on multiple projects
  • Ability to perform hands-on as well as consulting (as a Subject Matter Expert)

Outcomes:

  • Design and implement a secure and compliant network design and infrastructure to process in minimum performance criteria, the network within the Cloud solution, within the Cloud proposal to the client appliance/circuit, and within the extended management systems (multi-cloud management, monitoring, integration to other system management tools) and within the storage and data residency solutions (for data at rest, live, backup , resiliency, recovery solution components.
  • Lead hands-on deployment and configuration experience with Security products in the Security partner community such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco, Crowdstrike and Proofpoint within Medium size Businesses and-or large organizations
  • Make timely and logical decisions by analysing diverse information streams, evaluating options and formulating recommendations in order to resolve deployment challenges
  • Support sales engineers as well as design engineers during presales phase and participate as required on Proof of Concept and Pilot engagements
  • Expertise in defining and creation of automation strategy & roadmaps
  • Ensure timely execution, clear communication of risks, and profitable delivery of solution
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction by developing repeatable work methods, standards for networking equipment using different vendors
  • Implement software defined solution through orchestration platforms (versa, velacloud, etc)
  • Implement and execute innovation projects which explore novel approaches to system integration with existing networking technologies. –
  • Create repeatable processes and artifacts that will be used at scale and practice wide for developing and evolving SDWAN, SDLAN, and SDN technologies.

  • Automation:
    • experience in using tools such as Git/GitHub, Jenkins, as well as image repositories (Artifactory, Quay, etc.)
    • Ability to develop infrastructure automation in Go or Python as either a Kubernetes operator or on technologies
    • Working knowledge of Containers; i.e. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm.
    • Proficiency automating/leveraging monitoring and event management technologies such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and ELK.

  • Identify, propose and provide merits and risks analysis for solution alternatives to problems
  • Apply creative thinking to recommend actions/improvements/optimisation around technology, process, procedure, design
  • Engaging to trigger communications directly and in timely manner for any urgent communications. Utilise telephone, direct messaging and email in most effective and timely manner
  • Adopt the agile principles is success for the team/sprint as a whole for the common goal
  • Experienced in work break down structures, designing micro level solutions and documentation, architecture best principles, consulting principles
  • Very diligent record keeping.
  • Strong understanding of production managed services principles: SLA’s, change control, security & compliance, process controls and governance controls

Education Requirements:
Must have:
  • Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics & Electricals or any other related field.
  • CCIE Security
  • Bi-Lingual
  • Canadian Security L2 Cleared
  • Certification with Red Hat Ansible, RedHat Satellite, AWS, Azure, or other automation and cloud technologies

Preferred Educational Requirements
  • Applied expertise of architecture framework, design and development of automation platform, solution design document and technical design document
  • Applied
  • Applied mastery of automation and orchestration at large scale across the enterprise.
  • Applied experience with development, configuration, orchestration, and automation tools such as Ansible, Ansible Tower, Terraforms, Jenkins, Chef, and Puppet to provide full stack integration
  • Ability to articulate key technologies’ impact on security, availability, cost, capacity, transformation, risk, business enablement and transformation objectives
  • Ability to evaluate risk/merit to make recommendations on available and speculative information
