Red Rooster PR is seeking an Account Executive (AE) or Senior Account Executive (SAE) to work closely with internal stakeholders and maintain high-level business, trade and/or consumer media and inﬂuencer contacts. You will act as the account lead on smaller pieces of business and/or to lead individual portions of larger pieces of business.
AEs & SAEs are at the heart of a successful account. Part media relations expert, part strategic thinker and part client hand-holder, AEs are responsible for assisting with all aspects of an account.
AEs & SAEs begin to straddle both the account work (media relations, pitch development and conference work) and the strategic elements (plan development, client counsel, etc. A proven track record with media is a must, as clients should view an AE as the go-to when it comes to reporter beats and interests as well as trendspotting and newsjacking. AEs, in turn, should also be capable of providing this know-how to junior staff, guiding them through pitch challenges and assisting with their professional development.
You should have a strong interest in media, storytelling, and research. You should be a creative thinker that has a track record of turning your original ideas into media successes. Strong writing and communication skills are a must. As part of our media relations staff, you’ll need to pivot quickly and juggle multiple tasks throughout the day. - Bachelor’s Degree required; prefer degrees in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field. Must have a minimum of three to five years of public relations experience.
- The ideal candidate must have experience in a wide range of writing styles and can demonstrate strong strategic thinking, a clear news sense and a sharp eye for detail.
