The Job

As a member of our growing marketing team, you'll work closely with our marketing, product, and customer success leaders to shape the future of our chat & email marketing systems. You'll not only lead our chat marketing efforts, but you will be pivotal in centralizing how we communicate with our customers across our customer success, sales, marketing, and product teams. You'll own our data migration efforts, ensuring that customer data is passed from our internal systems to our marketing automation tools. This role also presents the opportunity to expand your scope of work outside of chat & email, as there will be opportunities to learn and work on sales operations, customer lifecycle mapping, landing page testing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new communication strategies within our current email & chatbot marketing system, communicating with over 100K small business owners
  • Own data migration efforts from our internal systems to marketing automation vendors
  • Report on effectiveness of email & chatbot marketing to senior management
  • Partner with Customer Success to design and implement new email & chatbot workflows to support sales operations processes
  • Design and implement new email, text, chat, or other communication workflows for different steps of the customer journey
  • Conduct and measure A/B tests to learn, optimize, improve our communications
  • Build custom lists of customers to communicate with based on actions taken within our product
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical and data issues with with Data and Engineering teams
  • Work with our Marketing and Product teams to attract Homebase customers, encourage them to use our product, and get them to pay
  • Build a multi-channel view of customer touchpoints, tying together points of contact across Sales, Marketing, and Product
  • Ensure we are always complying with relevant chat, email, text, and other regulations

Must-Have

  • 2+ years experience managing email & chat marketing automation platforms
  • 4+ years of marketing experience
  • Chat software experience (e.g. Drift, Intercom, Zendesk, Podium) and experience building out chat playbooks
  • Email marketing software experience (eg. Iterable, HubSpot, Pardot, Constant Contact) and technical experience expanding scope of email marketing program
  • Strong data analysis skills - proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets is a must
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g Looker, Google Analytics, Tableau, Domo)
  • SQL experience or willingness to learn
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Excellent understanding of what makes a good/effective email; copywriting and editing skills are a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to synthesize data and present actionable insights
  • Comfort taking on projects outside of your defined role
  • Be self-directed and able to manage complex projects from end-to-end
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast paced environment, serving as a cross-departmental marketing resource across multiple time zones
