Job DescriptionRegional Sales Manager - Flavors & ExtractsA thriving international food ingredient company is looking to hire an Account Manager for the IL, MO, OH, IN, and MI territories to manage sales and customers in this region.This sales executive will report to the VP of Sales and will be responsible to drive sales activities in the company s primary target markets of beverage. Established accounts along with some prospecting as well.Responsibilities include: Field related: You MUST have flavor knowledge or do not apply.
Prospecting and acquiring new customers while maintaining and growing the territory s established customer base.
Monitoring and addressing customer needs and identify key account contacts.
Provide insight to the company on competitive and customer satisfaction issues; drive steps to build and maintain customer satisfaction levels in both product and service areas to be superior to that of the company s competitors.
Negotiate prices and obtain sales agreements for single sales and long-term sales, maximizing sales revenue while adhering to sales margin requirements.Special Tasks:
Assist in the development of beverage sales and marketing strategy that includes developing the territory, knowing the customers, product requirements, and searching out new customers
Observe and understand competitors and competitive products as well as market trends.
Be familiar with the basic health and food laws within the geography and the economic environment of the territory and how they might impact sales within the territory.
Participate in internal and external product and sales courses and seminars.MUST HAVES
Minimum of 5 years
successful sales experience in the flavor industry or flavor related knowledge
Proven track record of maintaining existing accounts and opening new customer accounts
Success in exceeding sales quotas and maintaining strong customer relationships
Excellent organizational skills and ability to keep and submit thorough and timely records and reports* Requires approximately 30-50% travelIDEAL CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate for this Account Manager position will be strongly self-motivated with a keen desire to succeed. This person will operate out of a fully-equipped home office and is expected to drive their own sales success with reasonable guidance and support of the VP of Sales and home office support staff.
