The role will be based within one of the Drug Product sites or the Durham corporate office to ensure strong alignment and partnership with the businesses and functional leaders.
How will you make an impact?
The Drug Product Commercial Proposal Specialist will take customer provided technical information along with reasonable assumptions and estimate the cost and pricing for late phase transfer programs as well as ongoing commercial supply for pharmaceutical products. This position will then write the related bid proposals that will be issued to the customer through the sales team. Our team supports sales efforts related to the opportunities that we quote on as well as manage the relevant quote records in Salesforce.com. What will you do?
Responsible for reviewing Requests for Proposal information to ensure adequate information has been received to be able to prepare project costing and to collaborate closely with operational and sales teams as appropriate.
With support from senior members of proposals team, support the Sales team on teleconferences with the client to confirm the technical aspects of projects are understood and costed appropriately. Follow-up as required.
Responsible for building cost estimates in the current costing tool.
Responsible for drafting and completing the bid proposals using the current templates with moderate level of review from their manager.
Will receive guidance from senior members of the proposal team related to the pricing that should be applied to opportunities.
Responsible for leading the Inbound and Outbound Review calls for their assigned opportunities.
Responsible for acquiring the required internal approvals prior to issuing the final proposal.
Manage the editing and updating of the quote records in SalesForce.com.
Contribute to continuous improvements within the proposals process.
Minimum Education Required: Bachelors Degree; concentration in Science, Engineering, or Business is strongly preferred
3+ years of professional working experience
Pharmaceutical services industry experience is preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
High proficiency and capability with MS Office Suite primarily with Excel and Word
Experience writing client facing documents in MS Word is preferred but not required
Proficiency with Salesforce.com (CRM)
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse group of colleagues in various locations
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with shared metric goals
