Consumer and Small Business Banking (CSBB) provides financial services to 21 million retail bank households and three million small business customers through approximately 4,900 retail branches, 17 customer service centers, and approximately 13,000 ATMs in 36 states and the District of Columbia. We serve and help individuals and families in many aspects of their lives, helping them buy homes, open first bank and savings accounts, buy cars to get to and from work or school, and start or grow small businesses. CSBB is focused on innovating and transforming with the customer at the center, better enabling customers to engage with us how, when, and wherever they choose. As an industry leader in many consumer and small business areas – including retail deposits, debit card transaction and purchase volume, and small business lending – our primary goal is delivering for our customers.

Small Business serves the financial needs of small business owners with annual sales of up to $5 million and includes Small Business Lending, Small Business Relationship Management, Core and Government Products, and Small Business Strategy. It also includes a Healthcare Practices group, which combines a team of experts, practice financing, and resources to help medical, dental, veterinary, and optometric practitioners acquire, build, equip, and refinance their practices.

Manages the sale of products or services within a specified district or territory. Selects and develops sources, leads and contacts. Works with marketing teams to generate targeted sales programs, including telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, existing clients and other methods. Participates in trade shows and sales events as required. Provides management with appropriate and timely reporting/communications regarding lead generation, new transactions, forecast changes, market conditions and competitive issues. Ensures that all transactions from origination through close of deal are processed completely, accurately, in accordance with quality customer service standards and turn-times. Mentors other sales team members in skills and techniques.

Locations: Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Greensboro, NC; Winston Salem, NC; Greenville, SC; Columbia, SC; Charleston, SC. Other locations within North Carolina and South Carolina may be considered.


Required Qualifications


  • 8+ years of sales experience


Desired Qualifications


  • Ability to learn sales plans, product lines and services
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in business or management
  • Business development experience
  • Commercial lending experience
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other business and functional areas
  • Knowledge and understanding of business banking: sales or credit
  • Knowledge and understanding of underwriting or evaluating commercial credit
  • Strong prospecting, sales, negotiation, and influence skills
  • Established network in the local market
  • Healthcare industry experience


Job Expectations


  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time


Salary Information


The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

NC-Charlotte: Min: $74,600 Mid: $105,000
NC-Raleigh: Min: $74,600 Mid: $105,000
NC-Greensboro: Min: $74,600 Mid: $105,000
NC-Winston Salem: Min: $74,600 Mid: $105,000
SC-Greenville: Min: $67,100 Mid: $94,500
SC-Columbia: Min: $67,100 Mid: $94,500
SC-Charleston: Min: $67,100 Mid: $94,500
