Anthem’s National Accounts Team is hiring a Market Manager (Client Consultant Manager) for the Western Region. This people manager will oversee a Client Consultant team, comprised of the account managers who perform the operationally oriented work in support of national clients. He/she will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the resources for day to day client service delivery for West Region National Accounts clients.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports. Demonstrate aptitude for process improvement and willingness to drive the organization to create solutions that meet or exceed the client expectations. Works regularly with matrix partners to ensure delivery against contractual obligations. Core competencies in understanding employer benefit design strategies and has command of best practices. Reports to a Director or RVP/Staff VP of Sales.

[This position can work remotely from any Anthem Western Region office]


Requires a BA/BS; 5-7 years of health and life insurance account management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Highly preferred skills and experience:

  • Previous account management experience required and people management experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding the complexity of Anthem National Accounts
  • Project management and organizational skills
  • Understanding of Anthem’s backend systems related to Claims Processing, Benefit Plan Design (BPD) and core Operations
