The Alexa Auto team is seeking a business development (BD) lead to identify and execute partnerships for Alexa Auto development partners in North America and Japan. You will have an enormous opportunity to drive adoption of next generation in-cabin experiences by leveraging close collaboration with key automotive suppliers. Candidates for this role must possess a combination of technical skills and strong business acumen to aid our partners in building a delightful end-user experience.

The Senior Business Development Manager, Alexa Auto Development Partners, will be responsible for driving business incubation, strategy and market development for an established network of global Automotive Tier 1 suppliers and System/Software Integrators, by developing and nurturing strategic partnerships to create scale for Alexa Auto products and services. Leveraging the immense momentum of Alexa and other Amazon services in the home and on the go, you will parlay new technologies into unique in-vehicle experiences for drivers and passengers by working closely with internal development teams and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the automotive infotainment space, and be a self-starter willing to operate in a fast-paced, multifaceted and ever-changing environment. The candidate must possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to execute on key business initiatives. The role requires working with multiple parties to help secure lighthouse customers, drive top-line adoption for new products and develop strategic partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly talented, dynamic team and help influence the global go-to-market definition and execution of the Alexa Auto strategy. This is a key hire for the Alexa Auto team.

Job responsibilities
  • Support Alexa Auto Tier 1 suppliers and System Integrators in their pursuit infotainment and digital cabin programs with global automakers (OEMs)
  • Provide BD support for select Alexa Auto Special Projects in development
  • Lead partner engagements to create and showcase lighthouse proof of concepts (PoCs)
  • Work with key industry partners to integrate Alexa Auto SDK into their infotainment (IVI) development platforms
  • Build strategic relationships with key partners in your region(s)
  • Brief Amazon executive teams on progress in adopting Alexa and related services

  • Track record of negotiating embedded software agreements with external partners (e.g., OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, chip manufacturers, etc.)
  • Prior experience with voice assistant / speech recognition technologies
  • Familiarity with embedded operating systems (Android, QNX, Linux)
  • Familiarity with processors/SoCs used in infotainment systems
  • Prior BD/Sales or contractual negotiation experience with a major Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • MBA and/or Master’s Degree in a technical field
