Equivalent Experience

Seeking experienced Patient Account Specialist for a large medical group in Hampton Roads! This position offers a competitive compensation package and employee perks!

Description:
Answer calls from patients and take payments, answer questions about their bills and their insurance overage
Patient call volume - each rep takes about 40-50 calls per week, so 5-10 calls per day
Work through A/R reports, each rep will be tied to one insurance company and will sometimes be cross trained to back up someone.
Work denials and appeals
The rep will go into their electronic que, they will pull of the oldest account in their que, review payment adjustments and explanation of benefits and complete tasks as needed within that account
Need to be able to craft effective communication to insurance companies to explain medical necessity when needed
They are responsible for posting an electronic remit or paper EOB

Qualifications:
2-3 years of Patient Accounting experience required
Experience working appeals and denials
Ability to read and understand an EOB
Ability to navigate and work within Excel
Excellent customer service
