We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst will play a thought leadership role in the team – the team will look to you for advice on analytical and business issues facing them. You are right, a lot. You get a lot done. You work very efficiently and routinely deliver the right things. You will have a company-wide view of the analytical solutions that you build, and you will consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results company-wide.

As a Business Analyst on this team you will:
  • Design, implement and support a scalable and reliable infrastructure for Data Warehousing, BI and Analysis for the benefit of the predicting, preventing, and reporting on pay defects.
  • Implement reports, dashboards and metrics decks which distill down complex business problems in measurable and actionable insights.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Analyze and solve Product Analytics business problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context. Apply automation so that with every iteration on a problem, you build your solution to have maximum scale and self-service ability by stakeholders.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership.
  • Develop pragmatic analyses and choose applicable solutions that make valuable contributions to Amazon’s Advertising businesses.
  • Understand a broad range of Amazon’s Advertising data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
  • Recognize and use advanced analytical techniques to solve business problems
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Product managers, Data Scientists and other senior leadership stakeholders
  • Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data.
What you will need to be succesful in this role:
  • B.S. degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field
  • You're a strong BI Engineer and have worked in a big data environment,
  • Have been in business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role
  • Experience in using SQL to analyze data in a database or data warehouse and be able to use a major programming (e.g. Java/C) and/or a scripting language (Python) to process data for modeling
  • Experience working with a wide range of predictive and decision models and data mining techniques, as well as tools for developing such models
  • Knowledge of data warehouse technical architecture, infrastructure components, ETL and reporting/analytic tools and environments
  • Experience in business intelligence and visualization software (Looker, Tableau, Qlikview, MicroStrategy, QuickSight)
  • Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, Quicksight
  • Experience to break down complex problems, and a strong ownership to get things done and deliver results
  • Experience to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Expertise in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
  • Relevant experience in a business intelligence engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology, and business analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise with SQL, Linux, Oracle and OLAP and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (Amazon Quicksight, OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.)
  • Outstanding written communication skills. Able to distill complex data cross-tabulations into concise, meaningful insights with low entropy
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills. Able to concisely communicate trends in metrics and underlying
  • Advertising or Finance background is a plus.
