PreConstruction Manager
The Company
Tufco Flooring LLC is a leading provider of specialized, high-value flooring and drain solutions that enhance employee and food safety in industrial facilities. The Company serves leading global-brand companies and has a longstanding reputation for quality, service and reliability.
The Company has a long track record of consistent, significant growth and profitability. From our base in Hebron, Kentucky (Greater Cincinnati), we are pursuing aggressive expansion:

  • of our flooring and drain solutions business into additional markets throughout eight states in the U.S. Midwest; and
  • into additional industrial solutions businesses across the United States.

The Position
The PreConstruction Manager role is ideal for a driven, analytical problem-solver who wants to run his or her own show, within a team environment. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator whose passion is to create and run processes, lead people and fuel revenue growth in partnership with our sales team. This role is high-impact and reports directly to the Company’s President. As the leader of this key business function, you will define strategy and drive process excellence, margin enhancement and revenue generation. In this role, you and your team will evaluate customer success criteria, technical drawings and project details to confirm project scope. You and your team will deliver project quotes on time, with precision and with such compelling communication as to help us win more than our fair share of projects.

  • Project Estimation:

- Ensure quotes accurately reflect the optimal scope of work and cost efficiency, key customer success requirements, and appropriate pricing.
- Continually identify and evaluate large-scale new construction and renovation opportunities through online bid platforms to drive revenue and earnings growth.
- Utilize CAD software and evaluate construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Ensure that job planning documents are correct and complete in all respects, such that the Company’s installation teams can perform with excellence and efficiency
- Analyze and reconcile completed projects in order to enable prompt and accurate invoicing and communication to customers

  • Leadership:

- Build an industry-leading preconstruction organization to fuel extraordinary earnings growth
- Identify and lead adoption & achievement of best practices in the Company’s estimating systems, processes and tools
- Lead and mentor your team to achieve extraordinary personal performance and optimize their growth potential

  • Technical Expertise:

- Master knowledge of company products and capabilities, including through participation in on-site installations
- Participate in an array of industry trade associations and events in order to fuel relationships, build technical expertise, identify trends, and inform strategy

  • Relationship Development:

- Communicate with customers, both in writing and orally, in a professional manner that fosters loyal, long-term customer relationships
- Build collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships with all Company functions (operations, sales and finance) to delivery excellence for every customer, on every job

Candidates with education and/or experience in project estimating and/or construction management are preferred Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and must be able to pass pre-employment background, credit and drug screening. The Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with the strength and experience of the candidate, including a strong base salary, an additional bonus opportunity depending on individual and Company performance, plus a generous benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, health savings account, and 401(k) plan. A company laptop and mobile phone will also be provided.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
