We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our team in Cambridge, ON.

As the Inside Sales Representative, you will be a key point of contact with existing and new customers. The role will involve account management, relationship building with customers and liaising with internal Samuel department to meet branch targets. You will also be expected to proactively stay up to date with product and market trends and make suggestions for improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the profit performance of your accounts on a regular basis (e.g. Up-sell order quantities to reduce costs to the customer and enhance profit margins).
  • Identify, record, and recommend solutions for any problems relating to the product, process, and/or quality.
  • Talk to your customers about developments and events within the organization (e.g. new/discontinuing products, increases or decreases in manufacturing activity, etc.).
  • Take all relevant cost factors into consideration when developing quotes and ensure that quoted prices will provide the correct gross margin level.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all regular and/or potential customers, actively seeking new business from both.
  • Process all orders promptly as received, ensuring accuracy.
  • Be persistent and proactive in managing inventory and make mutually beneficial offers to customers (e.g. reducing aged inventory).
  • Continuous improvement of product knowledge, customer knowledge, sales skills, and any other capabilities pertinent to the Inside Sales role.
  • Maintain communication with customers and be an advocate in dealings with various internal departments (e.g. monitor the status of customer orders and intervene as required to ensure on-time delivery).
  • Provide all required production/inventory reporting to customers as required.
  • Have a good knowledge of new and current customers, trends, and industry developments.
  • Provide solutions to customer inquiries.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree/diploma in business an asset but not required
  • 3-5 years in B2B Sales. Commodity sales experience is preferred.
  • Steel/Metal Bar product knowledge is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of metals industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Experience with ERP systems an asset
  • Functions effectively under pressure, maintaining patience and flexibility.
  • Can manage multiple projects with under tight timelines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Has been trained in or has implemented insight selling strategies
  • Results & Process-oriented
