Job DescriptionThis individual will become an expert user of Oracle’s Autonomous Database Service. He/she will be knowledgeable at the user level in the Autonomous Database Service’s integration and operation with the entire eco system of surrounding cloud service capabilities including: Network, Compute and Storage infrastructure Services, Security Services, Identity Services, Monitoring and Alerting Services, Developer Services, Big Data Services, Backup Services.
In this role, he/she will develop Autonomous Database Service technical communications content: working code samples, video demos, service integration templates, blogs, wiki page management, data sheets, internal/external FAQ, webcasts, Powerpoint, technology briefs. Using a hands on approach and in cooperation with product marketing, customer success managers, A-team, sales consulting leadership and internal database product management, he/she will lead content creation efforts related to new feature function, cloud services integration, competition, 3
party integration and solution development.
In this role, he/she will deliver content as part of sales enablement efforts thru channels including: product marketing managers, regional business development managers, regional sales consulting managers, community forums, user groups, developer conferences, internal awareness and training events. This person will play an instrumental role in maintaining ongoing, relevant and up to date communication with Oracle’s technical resources and our customers.
In this role, he/she will engage with our customers and technical field employees who are using the content we’ve created to identify gaps in content and knowledge about Autonomous Database Service use in the larger market of cloud system database application development. The person will bring insight back to inbound product managers in the Autonomous Database Service product management team to help guide future product direction. The person will lead efforts in providing excellence in awareness and perception for Autonomous Database Service.
Qualifying Experience: Minimum BS, MS preferred in the area of Computer Science and/or Engineering. Must be able to demonstrate strong working knowledge of existing Oracle database technologies. Demonstrated working knowledge of cloud platform and technology providers. Demonstrated excellence in technical communications. Demonstrated participation and/or evangelism in a technical social community context. Demonstrated ability to create content and communicate about complex technical topics. Demonstrated ability to present to both small and large groups of technical professionals.
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
