- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

AWS Elemental MediaConvert is an Amazon Web Services service that combines deep video expertise with the power and scale of the cloud to help well known content owners and distributors prepare large amounts of content for viewer consumption. MediaConvert provides video processing as a service and caters to all segments of the industry starting from security camera videos to 4K Ultra High definition HDR video for movies and TV serials. MediaConvert team is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineering professional who is strong in problem solving, passionate about algorithm design, has bias for action, and is a great team player. Knowledge of video related technologies is a plus but not a requirement. As a member of the team, you will contribute to all aspects of the software lifecycle: design, experimentation, implementation, and automated testing. Your code will process millions of video assets around the world, and countless viewers will enjoy the final output. You will be expected to dive deep, experiment rapidly, and deliver results autonomously. Key job responsibilities -Learn how our products work today, and where we want to take them in the future -Design and implement new features from specification to final test and automation -Write a lot of high-quality code -Work in an agile development environment, where the backlog gets prioritized frequently -Have fun in a challenging but rewarding environment A day in the life -Code! Most of your days will be unscheduled focus time -Attend bi-weekly team meetings to share updates, answer questions and remove blockers -Provide input to questions posed by your team or help investigate customer issues to assist our support team -Participate in code and/or design reviews to provide feedback and ensure the solutions meet our engineering standards and customer needs -Interface with product managers, solutions architects, support engineers, and/or developers on other teams to solve problems and improve the MediaConvert service About the team The MediaConvert service processes millions of videos every day.   • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
