Job Description

UGE develops, owns, and operates community and commercial solar and energy storage projects in the United States. With over 15 years of renewables experience, we are on the front lines, working every day to accelerate the transition to clean, reliable energy. UGE is growing quickly as a full-lifecycle developer (origination through ownership) and is looking to further grow its Operational Finance team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing financial transactions primarily in the purchases and payables cycle.


This person reports directly to the Corporate Controller


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounts payable function for the business unit and its subsidiaries, including matching, posting vendor invoices, reconciling vendor statements, obtaining appropriate approvals, and payment processing in a timely manner
  • Verify and process employee expense reports for reimbursement
  • Assistance in general banking transactions, bank reconciliations, importing data from external sources, and filing documents as needed
  • Assistance with annual external audit and management internal reviews
  • Support the Operational Finance team with accounting for the business activities in North America and coordinate accounting matters with other departments as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting and reporting functions
  • Diploma in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Experience with managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment - previous experience at small entrepreneurial companies a plus
  • Excellent Excel and organizational skills
  • An understanding of internal controls and importance within the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including email communication
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency organizations a plus
