ROLE

As a Senior Developer & Database Administrator, you will be responsible for leading and executing the design, development, and optimization of IT solutions that support the business strategy and technical requirements. You will leverage your expertise in database management, software development, and system architecture to ensure high-performing, reliable, and scalable IT solutions. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to drive process improvements, system enhancements, and ensure the seamless integration of technologies across the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Requirements Analysis: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and understand their functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications and actionable plans.
  • Database Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize SQL database systems, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business while aligning with industry best practices. Manage database performance, integrity, and security to ensure high availability and scalability.
  • Solution Design & Development: Oversee the design and development of IT solutions that address business requirements, with a particular focus on database architecture, integration, and system configuration. Ensure that all phases of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), from discovery to deployment, are well executed.
  • Business process improvement: Lead the implementation of business process enhancements, automations and integrations requested by business departments in alignment with strategy.
  • Technology Evaluation: Proactively evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to assess their relevance and potential for enhancing existing IT infrastructure and application systems.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed functional specifications, system diagrams, and other relevant documentation to ensure clear communication of requirements and design to various stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify, communicate and mitigate potential risks associated with functional aspects of IT solutions, ensuring data security, compliance, and reliability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that IT solutions meet the defined functional requirements and adhere to established architectural standards.
  • Other duties as required to respond to business needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10 or more years of experience as an IT Functional/Solution Architect or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of functional analysis, data modeling, and system design principles.
  • Strong understanding of SQL Database administration
  • Proficiency in system integration, application architecture, and API design.
  • Familiarity with various software development technologies and programming languages.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Office environment.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting/pulling/pushing or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
