Job Overview
As the Outdoor Lighting Business Development Manager at In-Lite distribution, you will be a critical driver of our growth in the outdoor lighting market. This role is designed for a seasoned sales professional with a proven track record and a well-established network within the outdoor lighting industry. You will primarily focus on the B2B market, cultivating relationships with distributors, landscapers, deck-scapers, irrigation specialists and key stakeholders.
Your mission will be to showcase and sell our outdoor lighting solutions, emphasizing the quality, aesthetics, and functionality of our products. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of B2B and distribution sales strategies, a talent for building and maintaining long-term client relationships, and a commitment to meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Your primary focus will be on driving sales growth, meeting targets, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, delivering persuasive sales and product presentations. You also stay updated on industry trends and competitor products /activities. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between clients and our technical support team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Duties
Prospecting and Lead Generation:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, key stakeholders, and emerging opportunities in the outdoor lighting market.
- Initiate outbound calls, emails, and other communication methods to generate leads and create interest in our products.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to expand the company's presence and connect with potential clients.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with existing distributors, contractors, and other partners in the industry.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs, preferences, and requirements.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
Sales Presentations and Negotiation:
- Prepare and deliver engaging and informative sales presentations.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of our premium outdoor lighting solutions, highlighting key features, energy efficiency, and design aesthetics.
- Collaborate with the pricing and finance teams to negotiate terms, close deals, and ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
Product Knowledge:
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends, innovations, and advancements in outdoor lighting technology and design.
- Provide in-depth product knowledge to clients, addressing technical specifications, installation requirements, and maintenance considerations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop materials and resources that support the sales process, such as demonstration tools.
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc sales reports detailing key performance indicators (KPIs), sales metrics, and progress towards targets.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
- Provide actionable insights to the sales and marketing teams for continuous improvement and strategic planning.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Act as a liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and a positive customer experience.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve any post-sale issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
