Job Summary
Helps lead the Sales Operations and Salesforce team in proactively managing data-driven and reporting solutions within Salesforce.com. Identifies and implements enhancements, guiding cross-functional teams to develop effective solutions. Oversees enterprise-wide pipeline management, ensuring high-quality data and aligning sales processes to support strategic sales objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Serves as the focal point linking Business Development (BD), Therapeutic Business Units (TBUs), the Account Development Team (ADM), Marketing, and Business Intelligence (BI) to ensure all teams are aligned to the Global Sales strategy.- Line management responsibilities for Sales Operation staff including professional development, performance appraisals and employee counselling. Assigns project work and reviews workload for all direct reports. Manages staff by establishing goals that will increase knowledge and skill levels and by delegating tasks commensurate with skill level.
- Contributes to Business Development content and global tactics (roadshows, workshops, webinars, etc.).
- Encourages regional and global knowledge being shared across all teams and ensure that they are in sync with lead generation activities in the Sales Plan.
- Serve as primary point of expertise within the business unit by aiding employees, suppliers and others find the pertinent information needed to be successful and connect to sources of expertise.
- Ensures knowledge is treated as a key strategic asset within the business unit which leads to continuous enhancements by identifying best practices and areas of improvement to the leadership team.
- Provides analysis of the sales force data and drives action across the Company through timely, impactful deliverables.
- Serves as Salesforce point of contact for the Business Development organization and proactively manages data-driven and reporting solutions within Salesforce.com.
- Supports in pipeline accuracy across the enterprise and opportunity data quality to ensure accurate reporting.
- Monitors cross-functional processes that drive improvements to data quality, including but not limited to liaising with Finance, Proposals, IT and other company stakeholders to support financial data and reporting.
- Supports management of ongoing Salesforce initiatives and projects in liaison with BT and proactively determine reporting impacts and enhancements.
- Identifies business process enhancements/improvements within Salesforce.com and lead cross-functional teams to solutions.
- Supports weekly BD reporting and ad-hoc deliverables.
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
- BA/BS in Business or in a related field; and 8 years of proven experience in leading teams and driving Sales Operations strategies. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience managing a business, market, and/or market segment function in the CRO, pharmaceutical, or life science industry, or the ability to prove comparable experience in a related field of study is preferred.
- Experience in sales force data mining, market research, strategic planning, analytics, market intelligence, or strategic marketing where data is a foundation for recommendations and decision-making.
- Experience managing a large global complex pipeline or portfolio review and a sales team. Proven ability to motivate an indirect team to achieve well-communicated expectations and consensus building abilities.
- Ability to extrapolate and succinctly summarize and explain highly technical or complex issues to a high-level management audience.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines.
- Working knowledge of sales and marketing principles, practices, tactics, and tools. Thorough knowledge of research and analysis methodologies/practices.
- Ability to serve on, assist, and/or lead global cross-functional teams.
- Possesses a strong understanding of data organization, statistical interpretation of data, synthesis of findings, and appropriate reporting and an understanding of drug pipelines, clinical trials, and the CRO industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results in an ambiguous work environment.
- Proficiency and experience in industry-specific databases and sources.
