Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth deployment and integration of software applications. This position requires a strong understanding of cloud computing, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enhance our infrastructure and improve system reliability.

Duties

  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and reliable systems.
  • Automate deployment processes using CI/CD tools to streamline software delivery.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure using platforms such as OpenStack.
  • Implement configuration management tools like Puppet for efficient system administration.
  • Develop scripts for automation using Shell Scripting, Ruby on Rails, or Perl.
  • Maintain version control using GitHub, ensuring code integrity and collaboration.
  • Work with databases such as MySQL to optimize data storage solutions.
  • Utilize Elasticsearch for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed across all systems.

Skills

  • Proficiency in cloud computing technologies and services.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of automation tools like Puppet or similar frameworks.
  • Familiarity with application servers such as WebSphere.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Ability to write efficient scripts in Shell Scripting, Ruby on Rails, or Perl.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub.
  • Knowledge of database management systems, especially MySQL.
  • Understanding of search engine technologies like Elasticsearch.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $120,000.00-$160,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
