Job Description
Headquartered in Ottawa, the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) is a federal Crown corporation that operates at the crossroads of commerce and international relations to help Canadian businesses succeed in complex, highly competitive foreign government procurement markets. The CCC plays an important role in advancing Canada’s international trade agenda by facilitating exports across diverse sectors. The CCC supports over 550 Canadian exporters operating in some 74 countries and manages over approximately $3.5 billion dollars of export contracts annually. This dynamic leadership position is focused on shaping the CCC’s future through strategic innovation and business development excellence. With a track record of successfully selling to government buyers and closing large-scale & complex deals, the Senior Vice President will be responsible for building a high impact business development and marketing function to drive sustained growth and provide competitive advantage. They will play a key role in crafting business development strategies, identifying target markets, establishing best-in-class sales management processes and capabilities, and leading a high performing team.
The SVP will be hands on in leading key business development pursuits and negotiations, working with the BD team, Canadian exporters, trade portfolio partners, and foreign governments in sectors that include defence, aerospace, infrastructure, clean technologies & renewable energy, information communication technologies, and agritech and agrifood. In addition to growing the number of Canadian exporters served by the CCC, the incumbent will also be responsible for growing the corporation’s revenue base and achieving margin targets.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a degree in a relevant field and extensive senior-level experience in securing international, large-scale, and complex contracts across key industry sectors, including defense, aerospace, infrastructure, and clean energy. You have a demonstrated track record of successfully securing business with foreign governments and have established performance-driven sales and customer development organizations that consistently deliver growth and measurable results. With exceptional skills in building strong customer relationships and managing diverse stakeholders, you are highly adept at driving sales excellence through insightful analytics, rigorous pipeline management, and process optimization. Your personal and professional integrity is beyond question, complemented by a proactive mindset, passion for achieving superior performance at all levels, and a natural ability to inspire and motivate others. Additionally, you possess a deep understanding of government operations and the critical role of the CCC in Canada’s export landscape. You are driven by a passion for empowering Canadian companies to succeed in the highly competitive global marketplace.
