Our Tech Sales Foundations Courses cover the same curriculum, and are both designed to give Premium members the knowledge and skills they need to make a smooth transition into tech sales and land an entry level role.
With our 4-week Tech Sales Foundations Course, there is a greater daily time commitment since this is an intensive learning experience. Think of it as a speed run.
Compared to our 12-week Course, our 4-week requires a greater daily time commitment. It’s an intensive learning experience that requires vigorous practice in a short period of time to help develop new skills. Your career skill development occurs outside of class time.
While our Tech Sales Foundations Courses are designed to help everyone learn the needed knowledge and skills to land a fulfilling role in tech, our 4-Week Course does make this task hard if you have no previous sales experience. If this is you, our 12-Week Tech Sales Foundations Course might be the better route for you.
Through our 4-week Tech Sales Foundations Courses and additional Career Coaching sessions, you’ll learn to reframe your past experience in a tech sales context. Do you have past customer service experience? People experience? What about leadership experience? These are all transferable skills that can work in any industry… but especially tech sales!
It’s important for you to step into a BDR role with confidence so that you are able to achieve what’s expected of you. For that reason, experience with selling to, serving, or supporting customers in a different role or industry is useful in this context.
It’s unlikely that without experience selling to or helping customers solve issues at all, that you’ll feel prepared stepping into a Business Development role. That being said, we have seen circumstances where inexperienced individuals who are highly self-motivated and goal oriented, possess high emotional intelligence, problem solving skills, critical thinking, and conversational skills, stepped into Business Development roles and been successful.
So with the above in mind, you do NOT need previous sales or tech experience to land an entry level role in tech sales. But the timeline and duration to learn everything in 4-Weeks and feel confident might be a challenge without prior experience.

We acknowledge that life circumstances can change and strive to be flexible in accommodating your needs. While it is possible to withdraw from a course, we strongly advise our students to enroll in Courses they genuinely wish to take, actively participate in, and do their best to complete. This approach helps us manage resources effectively and ensures a positive class experience for all participants.
Though we prefer withdrawal to be an exception rather than the norm, our policies are designed to support those in need. There's no requirement to defer enrollment, as we have new cohorts starting every few weeks. If you decide to re-enroll later, simply click the enroll button when you're ready. To ensure a successful learning experience, we recommend scheduling a session with a Career Coach prior to re-enrolling if you have previously withdrawn. They can offer valuable support and guidance, or suggest alternative approaches that better align with your goals.

Our membership model differs from traditional education, where you would typically pay for each Course or Workshop individually. Instead, we offer a flat fee that supports your career goals, allowing you to take as many Courses and Workshops as you'd like based on your available time and resources.
Uvaro offers two financial assistance programs for those interested in becoming Premium Members.
Assisted Subscription Agreement (ASA): This program enables eligible members to join Uvaro at a reduced rate for up to 12 months or until they reach a specific income level (Qualified Income Threshold). Once the income level is met, members will pay the regular monthly subscription fee for 12 months.
Impact Scholarships: Aimed at empowering more women, particularly women of color, to succeed in the tech industry, these scholarships reduce barriers and enhance access to high-quality employment with upward mobility in the ICT sector. On a high level, you can expect to see an average base salary of $48,848 to $53,177 in the U.S. and $49,107 to $49,999 in Canada, with an average OTE of $51,848 to $83,177 in the U.S. and $51,107 to $79,999 for their neighbors up north.
That being said, the average salary for a BDR in 2023 varies depending on the company, level of experience, industry, and location. WOW, that's a lot of factors. To help set the proper expectations on the roles, and salaries they can expect to see upon graduating from Tech Sales Foundations we’ve created our BDR Salary Guide for 2023.
Being a BDR requires a combination of hard and soft skills. Soft skills include but aren’t limited to self-awareness, building rapport, phone conversational skills, active listening, problem solving and solution creation, and communicating with empathy. Hard skills include prospecting, research, data comprehension, tool use and technical literacy, and organization.
Most importantly, BDRs are tenacious, self-motivated, and numbers-driven. They’re creative and are always thinking of new and efficient ways to help their prospects solve problems. The better you are at knowing what gets a meeting booked with a prospect, the better a BDR you are.
Business Development and Sales Development are often used interchangeably. The primary difference between these two terms is whether the leads are outbound (Business Development), or inbound (Sales Development).
Oftentimes both lead sourcing types will be a part of both roles, which is why learning how to prospect and cold call is a critical skill for both roles. However, usually there’s one primary lead source. Oftentimes Business Development Representatives will be organizationally closer to Marketing, whereas Sales Development Representatives will be organizationally closer to Sales.
BDRs spend their days identifying companies or contacts who are a good fit for your product, reaching out to decision-makers via call, social media, or email to talk to them about their specific needs, challenges, and concerns. They also continually position the product or service their company offers and how it addresses those needs to move qualified leads to the next step in the sales process.
Basically, BDRs are focussed on research, lead generation, cold calling and emailing, networking with clients, social selling and qualifying prospects. Their initial conversations with a potential client are catered around information gathering rather than trying to sell as the client will be passed off to an Account Executive whose job it is to carry the sale to close.

Our Onboarding Prep Week is a combination of live and asynchronous sessions and tasks that onboard you to the tools, resources, and services at your disposal as a Premium member. We want to show you how to take advantage of all of our offerings while introducing you to some of the individuals who will support you during your time at Uvaro.
These sessions will teach you how to use your uvaro.com profile, join Courses and Workshops, and complete all the needed checklist tasks to see success right out of the gate. We do this so you don’t need to spend the first day of class learning about Uvaro - you are there to learn about tech sales.
he biggest takeaway we hope to instill from our Onboarding Prep Week is the mindset it takes to be successful when changing careers. A career change won’t happen overnight, and it will require hard work, with some setbacks.
