Visit www.wcrl.com to learn more.At our Edmonton plant, we are hiring a full-time Process Operator who is responsible for operating the Haarslav evaporator system, feather hydrolyser, boiler operations, blood processing equipment and environmental equipment used in the processing of various raw materials. Controlling various machinery in a safe, clean, and efficient manner to minimize downtime, and ensuring operations meet the company standards are important tasks of this role.
Possession of a valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate, with Steam Engineer accreditation required
This is a full-time, permanent position for 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control the flow of poultry and/or porcine products through pumps and other internal processes
- Manage internal steam pressures, pump speeds, time and temperatures, motor loads, conveyors, and augers
- Monitor the entire system to ensure Critical Control Point (CCP) standards are met
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within control rooms and cooking areas
- Test product on a regular basis to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain applicable HACCP documentation
- Control the flow of raw feathers manage speed, temperature, steam controls, metering bins, motor loads and driers
- Monitor the entire system to ensure CCP standards are met
- Work in conjunction with the Blood and Feather Operator to ensure safe operation of systems
- Monitor blood centrifuge, dryer and mill processes to ensure HACCP requirements are met
- Work in conjunction with the Blood and Feather Operator to ensure safe operation of systems
- Actively monitor boilers and associated equipment used for steam generation
- Monitor waste water and air handling equipment to ensure all applicable environmental requirements are met
- Work in conjunction with the Evaporator System Operators and Blood and Feather Operators to ensure safe operation of systems
- Perform water tests routinely as instructed as well as collection of samples for offsite testing as required
- Possession of a valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate, with Steam Engineer accreditation required
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve process related issues
- Previous experience in a similar production environment or industry preferred
- Certified in operating skid-steers and/or forklifts
- Strong knowledge of all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP practices
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
