The Climate Change Division’s Adaptation Team helps communities, businesses and other levels of government understand and respond to the impacts of climate change on communities, the economy, ecosystems, and infrastructure through research, education, capacity building, planning, and partnerships.

About Our Opportunity


You will support the Research and Knowledge Mobilization team in activities to strengthen our understanding of climate risk and adaptation in the province. This includes but is not limited to conducting background research and literature reviews, supporting evaluation activities, and assisting with data management and geospatial projects (i.e., GIS).

Qualifications and Experience


To be eligible for this position, you must currently be enrolled full-time in an Environmental Sciences or Studies, Planning, or other relevant post-secondary concentration and returning to school in Fall 2025. College or university-level training and/or coursework in GIS is required, with project experience considered an asset.


Knowledge of climate risk assessments and adaptation approaches is considered an asset as is familiarity with equity in relation to climate change impacts.


In addition to the above, the below will be key for success within the position:


  • Demonstrated experience conducting literature reviews and familiarity working with qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial data
  • Ability to summarize information concisely
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and motivated, with good time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to learn and share ideas

PLEASE NOTE: This is a student position with an anticipated start date of May 1, 2025 and an end date of August 29, 2025.


Pay Grade: HOURLY

Salary Range: $20.09 - $29.69 Hourly
