Job Description

Glass Lewis is recruiting a Sales Development Representative to help drive corporate business growth and retention, commencing as soon as possible. This position is well suited for someone looking to start a career in financial services sales. You will research prospective clients and create outreach strategies targeting C-level executives regarding our governance solutions. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate exceptional organization and communication skills, have an interest in Corporate Governance and ESG issues, and have the desire and ability to learn quickly. The ideal candidate is motivated and results-driven, and proficient in HubSpot and Salesforce and/or other CRM and business development software.

This is a hybrid role; attendance at our Toronto office will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement sales development strategies to support achievement of Corporate team goals and targets for new business and client retention.
  • Find and qualify leads. Manage a daily queue of inbound leads to qualify and pass along to assigned Account Executives.
  • Review and update account data, research prospective and current buyers, and acquire, update, and manage contacts in company CRM database.
  • Track, manage, and process renewals for current customer subscriptions to enable the organization to meet and maximize customer retention goals.
  • Correspond, schedule meetings, and establish relationships with C Level executives to promote Glass Lewis solutions and pass appropriate deals to the sales team for the final stages of the sales process.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Account Executives to develop and implement appropriate prospecting strategies. Test and assess new strategies with promising leads before being adapted by the entire team.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams, including sales, marketing, issuer relations, and others, to execute prospecting and renewal campaigns
  • Provide regular reports on sales development and renewal activities.
  • Communicate internally any client/prospect or market intelligence gained through your prospecting or client retention efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Fluency in English.
  • French, Spanish and other European languages are highly desirable.
  • Understanding of multiple methods of lead generation.
  • Comfortable with speaking to C-level executives and making cold calls.
  • Ability to work autonomously to solve problems in a flat organization.
  • Organized, efficient, accountable, and comfortable in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experienced with Salesforce, HubSpot and CRM practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build collaborative internal relationships across our organization, and external relationships with clients and partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Education/experience:

Relevant undergraduate degree required. 1-2+ years of relevant work experience in customer service, marketing, or a sales-related field. Experience in the fields of ESG / corporate governance preferred but not essential.
