1. Communication

As an Account Manager, you're responsible for communicating with clients daily. This means being able to communicate over the phone, in person, and in writing. 2. Problem Solving

When problems arise, it will be up to you to find a resolution. This means being able to think on your feet and come up with creative solutions. You'll also need to be able to troubleshoot technical issues. It might feel tough but you also need the understanding to escalate them when necessary.

3. Organization

An effective Account Manager has excellent organizational skills. They can delegate their time well. This means being able to juggle many projects at once and keeping track of deadlines. You'll need to be able to create & manage project plans. You'll also need to maintain accurate records of customer interactions.

4. Time Management

Since you'll be juggling many projects at once, time management is crucial. This means being able to rank tasks, set deadlines, and meet them. You'll also need to be able to locate and use resources efficiently to get the job done right. Keep in mind budget and timeline constraints.

5. Negotiation

As an Account Manager, you'll need to be able to negotiate deals with clients & vendors alike. This means being able to understand the needs and wants of all parties involved. You should always reach an agreement that is beneficial for all those involved. All while still meeting the objectives set forth by your company.
