Vergent, an AtSite Energy (ASE) company, is a clean energy developer with offices across Boston, Minnesota, the Great Lakes and Toronto. Founded in 2014, our team has delivered decarbonization projects across North America that push the boundaries of onsite power generation. We're looking for a driven, results-oriented individual with exceptional communication skills to spearhead growth and bring projects from conception to completion. You'll collaborate closely with experienced sales and engineering experts in a fast-paced environment.
The Role:
This is a strategic role that will shape our organization’s strategy, foster innovation, and ensure our company remains at the forefront of the distributed energy revolution. This position is hybrid: a mix of remote work and travel to meet with customers. Our ideal candidate will reside in the Houston, Austin, or San Antonio areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, nurture, and convert leads to sales opportunities, leveraging your network of industrial and commercial partners and end-users in addition to leads sourced by you
- Collaborate with Vergent-ASE partners to identify, develop and progress sales opportunities
- Develop and present tailored proposals for customers and partners, that demonstrate how distributed energy solutions can reduce utility costs, increase energy resiliency and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions using financial modelling and presentations of our solutions
- Undertake market analysis to identify prevailing trends, growth opportunities, underserved market segments, and strategies for leveraging energy pricing dynamics within each market
- Build relationships with key industry stakeholders (technology providers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, industry associations and customers) to position the organization as a leader in distributed energy solutions
- Stay informed about advancements in distributed energy technologies, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, and grid management solutions
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an energy sales role for energy
- Understanding of CHP technology and microgrid applications
- A pre-existing network of relevant professional contacts with relevant industries
- Familiar with energy grants and utility incentive programs
- Understanding of pricing and billing practices for electric and gas utilities
- Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
- Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a remote team
- Experience selling to the data center market is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $130,000.00 per year
