Job Title: Senior Sales Representative – Trucking & Hauling Industry
Location: Southern Indiana
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Representative to join our team in the trucking and hauling industry. This individual will play a key role in driving business growth by focusing on sales of materials transported by vans, flatbeds, and feed stocks. Experience in end dump truck-related sales is highly desirable but not required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building strong customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering innovative transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and achieve revenue goals in the southern Indiana region.
- Identify and target new business opportunities in hauling materials such as feed stocks, van freight, and flatbed loads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers in relevant industries.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service agreements that align with company profitability goals.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market analysis to stay informed of industry trends, competition, and emerging customer needs.
- Manage and grow existing accounts while consistently pursuing new leads to increase market share.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and reports to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in sales within the trucking and hauling industry, with a focus on vans, flatbeds, and feed stocks.
- Familiarity with materials requiring dump truck transportation is a significant advantage.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, freight brokerage, and transportation services.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs in a competitive market.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field. Not required.
- Established network of industry contacts in southern Indiana and surrounding regions.
- Experience with bulk material sales or specialized freight handling.
