Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team in a brand new role to bring our company to the next level. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing growth strategies, and building strong relationships with clients. This is a brand new role within our small business that requires a combination of sales expertise, strategic planning, and relationship building.
Duties:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
- Build, maintain, and utilize customer relationship management (CRM) software to track sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions
- This role will utilize a combination of phone calls, emails, and in-person sales visits (cold)
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles
- Proficient in using CRM software (e.g., HubSpot) to manage sales activities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels
- Self-motivated with a strong drive for results and able to work independently
- Willing to commute to all areas of Hampton Roads from Virginia Beach to Suffolk to Newport News as needed for in-person visits to supplement cold phone and email outreach
We are offering a compensation package that includes a base hourly rate of pay plus commissions .
This is a part-time position to begin, with opportunity to develop into a full-time position for the right individual. While the position is part-time, we are open to a flexible schedule Monday-Friday with varying daytime hours - no nights, no weekends. Please do not apply if you are looking for a weekend job, our clients work Monday-Friday.
We subscribe to a database of potential clients and decision makers' contact information that you can use for outreach and building relationships. We are also members of the local business association and attendance at various association events for networking and developing the book of business will be expected (and scheduled in advance).
The part-time schedule is perfect for someone who is not currently working full time and/or looking for additional side-income.
Experience that will stand out: business to business sales, multifamily apartment industry experience, service-based (cleaning) business experience.
