Job Description

The Role


The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for multiple areas supporting the distribution operation, including, but not limited to: safety, security, quality, and productivity. The incumbent will receive direction from and provide information to various managers in the Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service groups. Communication regarding inventory control, project(s) status, and priorities will be necessary. Monitoring of detail and tasks is critical to meeting objectives. Investigative analysis, finding root causes and providing solutions plays a large role in the duties of this position.

The incumbent is responsible for administering, supervising and coordinating the DC Cycle Count process and monitoring SAP and the Compare Report and Error Queues to ensure the inventory is accurate in the Blue Yonder system and that the Blue Yonder system matches SAP. The incumbent is responsible for collecting and analyzing DC inventory data, including measuring and monitoring inventory turns for items in the DC, and coordinating daily investigations of inventory discrepancies and be able to provide root cause analysis.

The incumbent will be called upon to investigate customer order credit claims. The incumbent will coordinate and supervise the successful completion of special projects, including product re-labeling and dead inventory removal. The Inventory Control Supervisor will manage the product slotting of a large SKU high volume distribution center. The incumbent is responsible for supervising the Inventory Control non-exempt staff and will work through proper channels to manage personnel decisions, disciplinary action, and other staff-related issues.

In addition, the incumbent will oversee the following Inventory Control areas: Kitting, Inventory Admin Specialist functions, PROB01 issue resolution, Shelf-life expiration accuracy, Gratis Purge, quality inspections, vendor management and corrective actions, DI Customer Service Bin Checks, Donations of materials as directed.


Requirements


This position requires the ability to analyze data and provide solutions. The incumbent should possess excellent organizational skills and demonstrate superior interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. The incumbent must possess the ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency and have the ability to work with all levels of the organization. The incumbent must possess advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and managerial skills.

Must have the ability to interact professionally with both internal and external contacts as well as demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Knowledge of Blue Yonder, SAP or equivalent WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) a plus. A bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/ supply chain (or equivalent) and five (5) year’s experience in a distribution or inventory control environment is preferred.
