DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 2, you will lead, direct, and oversee work that supports all programs and units at the AAA to facilitate broad services and high-quality programs for older adult residents of Allegheny County. Within this role, you will implement four (4) main strategic areas including staff development and professional training, monitoring, measurement of impact, and development of standard operating procedures and workflows. You will work professionally and collaboratively across DHS and the AAA, utilizing leadership strategies that support and promote DHS/AAA values and mission. We are looking for a motivated professional who is able to exercise considerable independence of judgment in the administration and oversight of the aforementioned areas in order to best serve our client population.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1; or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
