Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Model DSP algorithms in Octave/MatLab or Simulink
  • Implement networking or DSP algorithms in HDL for targeting FPGA-based platforms
  • Develop HDL designs in simulators and build bitstreams ensuring that timing requirements are met
  • Utilize various equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, DC power supplies, and logic analyzers for final verification and validation of designs on the target SDR
  • Participate in project development and code reviews
  • Develop documentation for describing designs, applications, test plans and procedures
  • Respond to RFQ with technical and scheduling details
  • Create actionable tasks when provided a SOW
  • Interface with leadership and customers to provide project updates
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline;
    5 years with Masters
  • Proficient with DSP, Octave/MatLab and Simulink
  • Proficient with Software-Defined Radios (SDR)
  • Proficient with developing and/or integrating signal processing applications in an SDR framework
  • Proficient with FPGA programming using VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Proficient with FPGA design flow including items such as RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis
  • Proficient with Xilinx and/or Intel tool suites
  • Proficient with ADC, DAC, and RF front-end hardware
  • Experience with PetaLinux Embedded Linux OS, or similar
  • Experience with Linux OS development system
  • Experience with C++, GDB, Python, TCL and shell scripting
  • Proficient with test equipment hardware (oscilloscopes, signal generators)
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative and team-based environment and excel in as a team lead
  • US Citizen and must be clearable

Preferred Skills or Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with networking technologies (UDP, IPv4, Ethernet, etc.)
  • Experience with the use of Git
  • Experience with the use of JIRA

Professional Subscriptions - $350 per calendar year.

Geon Technologies provides wage ranges in accordance with the Maryland Wage Range Transparency law. Pay within the range will be decided by the company in its sole discretion and will be based on several factors including but not limited to experience and/or other qualifications. The projected pay range for this position is $150,000- $220,000.
