SCS Manufacturing, Inc., a division of The Hazelwood Group, is seeking a full-time TechnicalSales Representative to join our team of hard-working and dedicated staff.
This position is based at our Coating Shop at 1607 Woobank Rd in Nanaimo, with additional responsibilities involving travel to meet new and existing clients. The ideal candidate brings relevant experience and thrives in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment. Our work ranges from producing small components to large steel gravel boxes, making speed, precision, and attention to detail essential qualities for success.

Compensation
- Base salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 per year, contingent on experience and qualifications.
- Commission of 1% to 2% based on projected gross profit per sale, paid out monthly.
Summary
The Technical Sales Representative plays a key role in driving sales and ensuring successful project execution for glass installations and powder coating projects. This position is responsible for conducting precise site assessments, providing accurate measurements and templating, and delivering detailed quotations. The representative will manage the entire sales process from initiation to completion, ensuring that customer needs are met while maintaining cost-effective sales practices within budget constraints. Success in this role requires meeting sales targets, cultivating strong customer relationships, and delivering high-quality, timely solutions to clients.
Job Duties
- Engage with clients to understand their needs, provide product and service information, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Conduct client site visits to assess project requirements, take precise measurements, and create accurate templates for glass installations and powder coating projects.
- Prepare and present detailed and accurate quotations based on site assessments and client specifications.
- Oversee the entire sales process, including follow-ups, contract negotiations, and coordination with internal teams to ensure timely project completion.
- Develop execution strategies and tactics to meet client and company objectives.
- Regularly analyze pricing effectiveness and market trends to remain competitive.
- Work with the management team to build and maintain business systems.
- Stay informed of internal and external developments to identify new market segments.
- Contribute to the development of continuous client feedback processes.
- Generate sales forecasts and periodic status reports.
- Participate in planning events to promote company services.
- Assist in installation as necessary.
- Perform other necessary duties to support the team and company objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the glass or powder coating industries.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong relationship-building skills with business partners and customers.
- Proficiency in conducting site assessments, measurements, and templating.
- High-level critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning.
- Capability to transform abstract instructions into actionable plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective presentation, writing, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.

- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe products, and email.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
