Job Description

The Director of Marketing (“DM") works closely with the Chief Marketing Officer to drive the national strategic marketing development initiatives of The Potter's House of Dallas, Inc., T.D. Jakes Ministries, and affiliated entities. The DM ensures that the organization's message is distributed across channels and to targeted audiences, in order to meet sales objectives. The DM coordinates the production of public relations, media, creative content, promotions, and advertising. This also involves seeking out new ways to deliver messaging. The DM develops strategic plans to identify, retain and grow customer base; identify and develop significant growth opportunities for the ministry; marketing and brand image; and conduct end-to-end analysis required to support business/strategic decision making, while collaborating with stakeholders to implement the strategy for all areas of marketing including sales, customer experience, public policy, media relations, printed and electronic promotions, television, web and electronic services and for all corporate programs of The Potter's House of Dallas, Inc., T.D. Jakes Ministries, and affiliated entities.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Works closely with the CMO and COO in developing the ministry's plan for strategic growth. This includes identifying trends and growth opportunities; identifying strategic gaps in the market and researching opportunities to address these gaps and present findings and recommendations to senior management for further development. Daily monitoring of business development and outcomes reporting directly to the CMO and COO.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on the ministry's short- and long-term growth strategies.
  • Evaluate market trends for the purpose of understanding emerging trends and identifying possible future opportunities and strategic partners.
  • Provides a high-level of clear and concise information sharing (research and detailed business reporting) to CMO and
  • Executes process mapping for projects and business.
  • Performs market analysis and feasibility research related to potential product and service offerings.
  • Creates strategic plans for marketing-related.
  • Analyze existing marketing, operations and business functions and identify areas of deficiency.
  • Analyze industry standards for TPH / TDJM products and assists in determining appropriate product.
  • Provide project management throughout the development of new products and offerings from concept to delivery.
  • Manage multiple reporting projects by developing formal project plans and processes and provides regular (weekly and/or monthly) updates.
  • Plans and directs marketing of the organization's products and services by performing the duties personally and/or through subordinate.
  • The DM works closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to assure efficient and marketing operations, sales operations, product management, partnership marketing, customer service, customer experience.
  • As part of marketing operations, the DM takes care of the company's media and industry relations, advertising, interactive programs, communications as well as market and customer.
  • The DM must ensure that the company's branding is effective in all media and possesses the following skills and attributes:

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA in Marketing or related business field of study.
  • MBA in Marketing
  • A minimum of ten (10) years related professional experience in the area strategic marketing, planning, management consulting, ecommerce leadership, business, and financial.
  • Must have significant experience building complex business models.
  • Significant experience in business case development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in the leading, development and assessment of the area of Marketing.
  • Sales and business development, along with a demonstrated track record of success and performance.
  • The ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategies and implementing the strategy to achieve pre-set objectives as determined by the marketing plan.
  • Experience in managing budgets effectively across multiple departments, financial reporting, setting up effective metrics and business processes.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in the leading, development and assessment of the area of Marketing.
  • Knowledge and experience working with non-profits and urban markets required.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with technology and social media applications.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
