Job Summary:

Human-I-T is seeking a skilled and responsible Logistics Driver to join our logistics team, key to ensuring the safe and efficient transport of donated technology. This role requires excellent driving skills, as evidenced by a clean driving record, which is a strict requirement for the position. As the first team member that our technology donors interact with at the client site, the Logistics Driver must excel not only in driving but also in providing exemplary customer service, professionalism, and courtesy. This role involves significant interaction with clients during the loading and unloading processes at various locations and requires adherence to our NAID AAA-certified data security standards. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about contributing to a mission-driven organization by ensuring operational excellence in all shipping and receiving activities.

This position is located in a secure, NAID AAA certified and ISO certified facility, ensuring the highest standards of data security and operational integrity. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment, all new hires are required to undergo a background check and drug screening prior to their start date. Additionally, to ensure the safety of our team, employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, which will be provided at no cost. Our active warehouse setting presents inherent risks such as equipment operation, material handling, and the need for constant vigilance to prevent accidents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Driving and Route Management:

    • Operate a large 26-foot moving truck and other company vehicles responsibly, adhering to assigned routes and time schedules

    • Maintain a safe driving record and abide by all transportation laws

  • Customer Service and Interaction:

    • Routinely interact with on-site client points of contact, ensuring all communications are handled with politeness and professionalism

    • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that all client interactions enhance their experience with Human-I-T

  • Loading and Unloading:

    • Carefully load and unload computers, servers, printers, and related technology onto and off trucks, using electric pallet jacks, dollies, and other necessary tools to prevent damage

    • Operate forklifts, mechanical lifting platforms, and other handling equipment safely and efficiently to facilitate the loading and unloading process.

    • Update Asana tasks in the "Incoming Technology" project by changing the status and recording pertinent details like the number of pallets received, their weight, and location to maintain accurate records and facilitate efficient workflow.

    • Bring donations into the warehouse, organize them on shelves, and update their location in the "Donated Tech Inventory" Asana project for accurate tracking and efficient inventory management.

  • Cost Efficiency and Scheduling Coordination:

    • Implement strategies to reduce logistics costs while ensuring timelines are met with minimal delays

    • Collaborate with the Logistics & Receiving Planner to coordinate the scheduling of Human-I-T's fleet of trucks for local pickups, prioritizing based on urgency, requested dates, and mileage reduction

    • Update tasks and route planning on Asana, optimizing routes and schedules to enhance regional efficiency and ensure maximum productivity

  • Collaboration

    • Collaborate and assist other departments as needed, providing support to ensure smooth operations across the organization and adapting to fluctuating demands effectively.

    • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a driver with a clean driving record, preferably with experience driving large trucks.

  • Experience or certification in operating forklifts, electric pallet jacks, dollies, and other warehouse equipment is highly desirable.

  • Strong orientation towards providing excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing schedules and routes.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with clients and team members.

  • Commitment to the mission and core values of Human-I-T.

  • All employees must pass a third-party background check as a condition of employment
