Role Overview:
The Forklift Sales Representative is responsible for selling forklifts and related equipment to potential customers, generating new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This role involves understanding customer needs, presenting product solutions, negotiating terms, and closing sales to achieve revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation:
  • Identify and research potential customers in the designated territory or market segment.
  • Generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and other sales prospecting techniques.
  • Qualify leads to determine their potential as viable sales opportunities.
  • Sales Presentations and Demonstrations:
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and applications of forklifts and related equipment.
  • Tailor presentations to address the specific needs and requirements of each prospect.
  • Address customer questions, objections, and concerns effectively to build confidence and trust.
  • Solution Selling:
  • Consult with customers to understand their material handling requirements, operational challenges, and business objectives.
  • Recommend appropriate forklift models, configurations, and accessories to meet customer needs and optimize performance.
  • Offer value-added solutions, such as maintenance contracts, financing options, and aftermarket services.
  • Negotiation and Closing:
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with customers to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals, quotes, and contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Close sales and secure purchase orders or contracts to achieve sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or concerns.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and resource for customers, providing ongoing support and assistance as needed.
  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Provide feedback to management on market dynamics, customer preferences, and product performance.
  • Administrative Tasks:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, pipeline activity, and forecasted revenue.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, such as sales support, service, and logistics, to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the material handling or industrial equipment industry.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish credibility with customers at all levels.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Knowledge of forklifts, warehouse equipment, and material handling solutions is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the designated sales territory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
